Bridging & Collective Impact

Synergos

Bridging the distance between power and purpose.

OFFICIAL WEBSITE

Synergos is a global nonprofit organization founded in 1986 by Peggy Dulany, daughter of David Rockefeller, with the mission of bridging divides between the powerful and the marginalized to build more just and equitable societies. Operating across Africa, Asia, Latin America, the Middle East, and North America, Synergos works at the intersection of philanthropy, systems change, and what it calls whole person leadership — the integration of inner development with outer impact.

Synergos convenes networks of philanthropists, business leaders, government officials, and civil society organizations, and provides facilitation, leadership development, and strategic support for collaborative initiatives addressing poverty, inequality, and social exclusion. Its Global Philanthropists Circle brings together some of the world's most significant family philanthropists to share learning and coordinate impact.

Synergos holds a rare position in the global philanthropic ecosystem — it takes seriously both the structural dimensions of inequality and the inner dimensions of the people working to address it. Its whole person leadership framework recognizes that the quality of relationships between those with resources and those without them is itself a systemic variable — that trust, presence, and genuine encounter are not soft prerequisites but determinants of whether collaboration produces lasting change. For the transition, Synergos models what bridging looks like when it goes beyond strategic alignment to genuine human encounter.
